And oh! how I love food!
Unfortunately, lyme disease had done it's damage on my digestive system and overall health which forced me to take a look at what I was putting into my body. It helped me to realize that so many others are having similar issues as well and it motivated me to figure out what's best for the digestive system, for cells and for one's overall health.
Much of my time was spent reading a variety of books on foods and studying an endless amount of information on the web about what foods are and aren't healthy for humans and I spent years trying different diets and recipes.
Are meats good or bad? Should we eat an all raw diet? Should we consume lots of grains or none? And what about sugars and fats? Should we consume dairy products?
Importance of Proper Digestion
Have you ever heard the term, "You are what you eat"? Well it is true, but there's more to it.
We aren't just what we eat. We are what we eat, assimilate and eliminate.
We can eat all we want but are the foods we're eating being properly digested, assimilated and eliminated?
If not, how can good health and longevity abound? A lack of nutrients, mal-absorption and autointoxication can't be present, long term, without eventually breaking down our foundation and allowing chronic illness to set it.
In this category I'll be sharing with you:
- foods I feel we should eat for optimum nutrition
- simple steps we can take for better assimilation and elimination
- specific foods that are and aren't good for us
As with all the information I share in my videos - I suggest you do your own researching, take into account what your doctor is telling you and always pay attention to what your body is telling you.
I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your insights and trying your recipes! Will you consider making more videos and putting more info on your blog for those of us who could really use your experience and wisdom?
ReplyDeleteHi Claudia; I am so happy I found your video on youTube for homemade yogurt. I have made it several times and consider it the easiest thing ever; not to mention tasty! I have a question: have you ever done that same recipe with store bought unsweetened Almond Milk or other nut/soy milks? If so, is the process the same?
